Biography

Kara Kamenski is an experienced dance educator and choreographer in K-12 and private settings. She holds a Master of Education in Dance Education and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Performance from Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University.

Currently, Kara is a dance educator at a middle school in New Jersey, where she has overseen significant growth in the dance program over the past two years. She directs and choreographs the afterschool dance program, leading performances throughout the district that showcase her students' talents and hard work.

During her graduate studies, Kara completed a rigorous student teaching internship at Clifton High School in New Jersey. This experience solidified her commitment to fostering a love for dance in young students. Additionally, she co-founded an afterschool dance program at the Paul Robeson School for the Community Arts in New Brunswick, NJ, in collaboration with her EdM cohort, providing a creative outlet and valuable dance education to students in the community.

Kara also holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Education from Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University, where she was inducted into the National Honor Society for Dance Arts and graduated with Honors. Her academic journey included an enriching study abroad experience at the renowned Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London, England, where she expanded her global perspective on dance and education. At Mason Gross, she performed in works by various faculty and guest artists, as well as student choreography, in venues such as the Victoria J. Mastrobuono Theater, Loree Dance Theater, and Hudson Guild Theater, as well as virtually.

Throughout her career, Kara has been dedicated to creating inclusive, dynamic, and engaging learning environments for her students. Her approach to dance education emphasizes the importance of creativity, expression, and technical proficiency, ensuring that each student feels valued and inspired to reach their full potential.

With her blend of practical experience, academic achievements, and a genuine passion for dance education, Kara Kamenski is eager to bring her expertise and enthusiasm with her into all educational settings. She looks forward to opportunities to contribute to a school community dedicated to the arts and the holistic development of its students.
